Our New Campus!
Purpose-built Campus, State-of-the-art Facilities
The International School of Berne has moved three times over the lifetime of the school…

Open April 2017
ISBerne moved to its new campus in April 2017. The new campus had been many years in planning, and the whole school community was very excited to see the project finally come to fruition.

The Little School House
Originally, when the school was founded in October 1961, it opened in a house on Thunstrasse in the city of Bern. By 1965 the enrolment had reached 52, too much for the little house to hold, so land was found in Gümligen and the first buildings of a new campus were built.

The Gümligen Expansion
Over the years ISBerne continued to grow alongside the growth of the Canton of Berne. New buildings were acquired to hold the expansion but eventually, as enrollment surpassed 200 students, the school grew too large for its existing site and plans were made for a new campus.

Breaking Ground for the New Campus
After much careful planning and considerable investment, ISBerne along with its investors and Governmental supporters, broke ground for the new campus on August 21, 2015.

New Location
The new campus is at Allmendingenweg 9, 3073 Gümligen not far from it’s old location… just two tram stops away!

Happy School
ISBerne’s students, staff and families, as well as the local community of Gümligen and the Canton of Berne, continue to delight in the new campus.
